Men’s lives are busy, especially with trying to juggle different responsibilities such as family, work, sport, personal devotions, hobbies and time with friends. God lays a particular charge upon men to be leaders in their families and people of integrity in their workplace. For these reasons, it is important for men in the Church to have opportunity to both encourage and be encouraged by other men.
Proverbs 27:17 helpfully teaches that, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”.
At St Mark’s, a number of our men are involved with attending a mid-week Bible Study group, the annual Belgrave Heights Men’s Convention, the Kathmandu Adventure Series races and the Sports Chaplaincy Australia Champions’ Dinner. A number of the men also
get away for a weekend together for food and fellowship.” For further information about men’s ministry in our church, contact Assistant Minister Matt Ooi on email@example.com.
3M: More Mature Men
The 3M group of men aged 50+ meet monthly (first Tuesday, 12.30 to 2.00 pm) for lunch, fellowship and discussion. Typically one of their number gives a short talk; topics cover wide ranging issues such as the speaker’s life and faith experience, ethics, current affairs and business issues, and the talk is followed by Q&A and comment. The group usually meets at a cafe in Camberwell. Others who wish to join are very welcome. For more information please contact Chris White via the church office on 9882 2604 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
