At St Mark’s we value people of all ages, including our elders. Both of our morning services (9am and 11am) have people who are ‘empty nesters’ or are retired and elderly. We honour and respect our elders for their lives and faithfulness.
We have a number of ministries to encourage our elders, including 3M men’s lunch (see below), Woman to Women, Seniors Lunch at Christmas and a pastoral care team for visiting. Plus, we also run a service at a local nursing home in Camberwell (Broughton Hall).
3M: More Mature Men
The 3M group of men aged 50+ meet monthly (first Tuesday, 12.30 to 2.00 pm) for lunch, fellowship and discussion. Typically one of their number gives a short talk; topics cover wide ranging issues such as the speaker’s life and faith experience, ethics, current affairs and business issues, and the talk is followed by Q&A and comment. The group usually meets at a cafe in Camberwell. Others who wish to join are very welcome.
