St Mark’s Christmas Services
There are a number of ways you can join us this year to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and you will be warmly welcomed at all of them:
Sunday 15 December 7:30 pm
Lessons and Carols
Our Lessons and Carols Service here at St Mark’s has been a tradition for many years. It is an event with roots in the 19th century in England. The service is a mix of carols, musical items, and lessons or readings from the Bible. Click here to watch the livestreamed video of this year’s service.
Each individual part of this service is beautiful and meaningful, and when each part is joined together with the others, they tell us a story. It is a story of hope, which begins in despair in the darkest day in the Old Testament. It traces the promise that God has made to humanity throughout history. And it finishes with the glorious hope, which is revealed in Jesus.
Thursday 19 December 7:00 pm
… because life is hard sometimes.
Do you know someone who’s having a hard time this season? Are you?
We hope you will join us and invite someone to come with you to our Blue Christmas Service on Thursday 19 December at 7:00 PM. The festive season noise doesn’t always make us feel included or loved, so the Blue Christmas Service is a quieter service of hope in the midst of a noisy season for anyone who has a little sadness, confusion, loneliness or loss. With a background of reflections, soft music and candlelight, you’ll be invited to offer your tougher emotions to God, who entered our world of suffering at Christmas.
Christmas Eve 5:00 PM
Nativity Play

Christmas Eve 11:00 PM

Our Candlelit Service is a beautiful, reflective, yet joy-filled service of Holy Communion and Carols to usher in the arrival of Christmas Day. Many people from the community come to enjoy this special service.
Christmas Day 8:00 am
